Tips for Preserving Your Sports Memorabilia Collection

Sports are more than a hobby for some people. Many fans turn their interest in athletics into a passion, collecting all sorts of memorabilia from their favorite teams and players. If you are one of these people, it’s a good idea to preserve your collection so that its value is protected. Helmets, balls, bats, and the like should be stored in display cases that have a UV protective shield. This will help prevent fading if your collection is on display. Paper products such as tickets, programs, and photos can be mounted in shadowboxes or frames, or stored flat in bags in acid-free boxes. Baseball cards can be kept in binders, though plastic cases do a better job of preventing the cards from bending or tearing.
